German knitting magazines are boring, always the same, and rarely offer any challenge. Even the German Knitter is very, very much adapted to German conditions. The positive aspect of the German magazine is the list of yarn substitutions, which, of course (unfortunately), the English one lacks. The reason for the deduction in points is that there are too many written knitting instructions for my taste. A picture is worth a thousand words! With written instructions, I've even accidentally continued knitting on the wrong line...
